My name is Ste McCabe. I am a one-man band.

I make political pop songs in a gay punk council flat dungeon with an electric guitar, drum machine and occasional other instruments. I then tour them as relentlessly as I can, everywhere. I have been playing live since summer 2006 and since then I've played everywhere from radical DIY queer festivals to the Royal Festival Hall, from freezing cold European punk squats to Glastonbury, everywhere from Iceland to Croatia. Sometimes they dance and love, sometimes they scowl and hate. I've shared a stage with everyone from porn star Ashley Ryder to Billy Bragg. I'm flexible like that.

My 3rd album "Bad Kitty" is out now on Cherryade Records.

I organise community band nights in Edinburgh called Pussy Whipped, which showcase queer and/or female alternative/punk/electro bands and musicians.

Here’s some nice and nasty things people have said about me:

“Ste McCabe is a queer-feminist-punk-poet for the people" - Time Out London

"Ste McCabe is a national treasure" - Organ

“At heart, Ste McCabe is a brightly coloured pop-punk artist who gets better with each release” - Artrocker

“Ste McCabe’s reactionary, politically under-cooked and rhetorically over-blown songs are verging on the insane” - Tasty

"
Ste McCabe is angry, hilarious and brilliant. Most importantly, he gives a shit. It’s time you started to give a shit about him too." - The Line of Best Fit

“Sensational isn’t it that you’re gay? Wow. Get over yourself” - Natalie Shaw, Noize Makes Enemies

“Ste is armed with a mean, lean, bedroom Disco drum machine, a cheap guitar and his biggest asset; a mind and a loud mouth to speak it.” - Gay Times
